High Altitude Tips

Keep in mind that Colorado’s weather can change quickly. No matter what the season or your outdoor activity, make sure you bring an extra layer of clothing with you. Whether it is a sunny or cloudy day always use sunscreen. Remember you are anywhere from 7,000 – 14,000 feet above sea level and the sun is more intense than you realize. It is important to drink plenty of water so you stay hydrated. Some people experience altitude sickness. Usually drinking more water, resting and taking aspirin or Tylenol helps. If your symptoms persist there are two medical facilities nearby:

St. Anthony Summit Medical Center:

High County Healthcare:

Equipment Rental Information

There are numerous places to rent equipment in Summit County. Although all the ski resorts offer equipment rental we would not recommend renting from them as they are overpriced and the equipment is overused.
We recommend the following two locations:

Wild Ernest Sports Fawn Court, Silverthorne, CO 80498
Virgin Island Summit Place, Silverthorne, CO 80498

Discounted Lift Tickets

Unfortunately discounted lift tickets are getting fewer each year! Below are 3 places that offer discounted tickets. If you plan to ski multiple days at the same resort you can also save money.
